Chaos & Conquest

Chaos & Conquest is a Sword & Sorcery TTRPG about the conflict between Chaos, Law, and the fight for Balance. It is quick to pick up and is built on games like Into the Odd, DURF, Errant, Knave, Whitehack, and pulls some inspiration from B/X D&D. It has features like:

• Quick Character Generation based on backgrounds that grant traits and equipment.
• Auto-hitting combat that focuses on the danger and tactics versus rolling to hit.
• Diagetic advancement that removes the focus on XP points and places it on achievements in-world.
• Chaotic free-form magic that could cause mishaps and corruption at any moment, changing your character or the environment.
• Downtime turns that focus on long term advancement and domain play. Rules for building institutions, estates, ruling domains, faction turns, and more.
• Robust economy with prices and wages that make sense on the individual scale, while abstracting the minutiae of larger scale domains and institutions.
• Procedures for running the game.
• Human-centric world with renaissance period technology in a feudal setting.
• Compatibility with OSR and NSR settings and adventures, requiring little or no changes to run.
• 1.5 years of playtesting, featuring a 70 session campaign.
• 85 pages of content

In Development

• There is a set of custom PDF character sheets in the works. These will be the same ones as found in the online version, but nicely designed and formatted for printing.
• Next I will be working on both a setting and some adventures for use with the system.
